"Midwest Manufacturers & Mechanisms"

The Antique Doorknob Collectors of America will hold our 42nd Annual Convention this year in Central Illinois at the Doubletree Hotel in Bloomington. July 19-23, 2022. This should be an exciting opportunity for collectors and historic preservation enthusiasts gather again in middle America to buy, sell and trade hardware, and share ideas & thoughts.

You may make your hotel registrations on-line through Doubletree at this link, or by calling (800) 222-8733 (24/7)  and mentioning our reservation code of ADC_07. Our special hotel rate is $119.00 plus taxes, and the rate will be available for nights between 7/18 and 7/25 (two days before and after the convention).


On-line registration for the convention IS NOW AVAILABLE BELOW, and registration packets have been mailed to all current ADCA members with the January-February 2022 issue of The Doorknob Collector. The registration packet is also available for download as a PDF below.

Friday, July 22 from 1 to 6 PM
Saturday, July 23 from 9 AM to 11 AM

at the Doubletree Hotel Conference Center at Bloomington, Illinois. 

We do ask members of the public who are unvaccinated to wear a mask in the convention room.

Our theme this year is "Midwest Manufacturers and Mechanisms", so bring displays of hardware:

• by Midwest manufacturers such as Schroder, Chicago Hardware, Adams & Westlake, Barrows, Sager, Clinton, Ireland, Kenton, Kean & Doty, Perkins, Taylor & Boggis, Union Brass, US Steel, and possibly others.
• unusual locks and hardware-related mechanisms by Midwest companies.

Our annual Convention is an excellent opportunity to see many fine examples of this art form, talk to experts in the field, to start or add to your collection, and to have your hardware evaluated.  And you never know what members will bring to the Convention.

The friends and contacts you will make during this convention become a future resource for collectors and historic renovators alike.

Tuesday, July 19

• Arrival at Convention Hotel.
• Visit with fellow members in the Hospitality Room

Wednesday, July 20

• Tour of Bloomington including David Davis Mansion/Sarah's Garden, Lunch at the Destihl Brewery, and Funk Prairie Home Museum
• ​Visit with fellow members in the Hospitality Room​

​​Thursday, July 21

• Tour of Peoria, including the Pettengill-Morron House Museum, lunch at Kelleher's Irish Pub & Eatery, Edward Easton Historic House, and Wheels o Time Museum
• Visit with fellow members in the Hospitality Room

​Friday, July 22

• Buying, selling, and trading all day
• Visit with fellow members in the Hospitality Room

Saturday, July 23

• Buying, selling and trading until noon
• Lunch provided for registered convention attendees
• Hardware auction starts at 1PM
• Banquet, awards presentation, and club business meeting
• Visit with fellow members in the Hospitality Room

To attend, you MUST be an ADCA member, so simply join the Club by signing up using one of the methods using the link below.  Our Individual Memberships start at $25 per year. Our Business memberships are $100 per year and include listing on our Buying Antique Hardware page and in the newsletter.
